From June 26 to 27, 2025, the 7th International Forum on Polyurethane Frontier Technology (PTIF) was grandly held. Sinochem Dongda (Zibo) Co., Ltd. won the "Best Sustainable Development Innovation Award in the Polyurethane Industry" in recognition of its groundbreaking practices in green R&D and low-carbon production.

As a highly influential international event in the global polyurethane industry, this year's forum was co-hosted by authoritative institutions including Tian Tian Chemical, Shanghai Polyurethane Industry Association, and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. It gathered over 300 representatives from leading enterprises across more than 30 countries and regions (including BASF and Covestro) as well as representatives from industry associations in China, Europe, and North America. All participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the path of green transformation for the industry.

As a national-level "Demonstration Enterprise of Single-Product Champions in Manufacturing", a provincial-level "Green Factory", and a "Green Supply Chain Management Enterprise", Sinochem Dongda has achieved the coordinated improvement of environmental benefits and operational efficiency through continuous technological innovation, process optimization, and the upgrading of green supply chain management. Currently, the company has two green and low-carbon products that have reached the international advanced level, and 4 products have passed the authoritative carbon footprint verification and certification. These products not only feature stable performance but also boast significant advantages of low VOCs and low odor. Among them, the world's first commercialized polyether dedicated to solvent-free polyurethane waterproof coatings can greatly reduce VOC emissions; the bio-based polyether polyol products, which use renewable resources such as castor oil, epoxidized soybean oil, and cardanol as raw materials, can reduce the carbon footprint emissions of end products throughout their life cycle by 30%-70%, providing strong support for the realization of China's "dual carbon" goals (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality).

Looking ahead, Sinochem Dongda will continue to deepen the R&D and application of bio-based polyethers, polyether polyols for PAG synthetic oils, polyether polyols for UV curing, polyether polyols for high-end MS sealants, and green and environmentally friendly polyether polyols with ultra-low unsaturation and high reactivity. The company will also actively explore carbon dioxide resource utilization technologies, improve the polyurethane recycling and reuse technology system, and commit to building a circular economy model of "production - use - regeneration", so as to contribute more "Dongda Solutions" to the sustainable development of the global polyurethane industry.
